What is DLMS?
Direct Livestock Marketing Systems or DLMS is an internet based, online cattle
auction. This interactive market place provides a link between producers from
Western Canada to buyers all across North America. DLMS auctions are broadcast
over the internet and therefore have the power to bring together buyers and
sellers that would otherwise not be able to conduct business.
DLMS auctions have been developed to be like a live cattle auction, plus
features such as instant bidding, streaming audio of a live auctioneer and live
video for particular sales. DLMS is proud to host sales featuring feeder
cattle, finished cattle, bred cows and cow-calf pairs. We will also be
broadcasting pre-sort sales and bull sales live on location. For more
information on any of our sales please contact us. Just phone the number on the
screen or visit Agents/Reps page.
Why use DLMS to market your cattle?
There are many advantages to using DLMS to market your cattle.
Access to buyers is usually the biggest problem for producers wishing to sell
off the farm DLMS is broadcast via the Internet, and is accessible from any
location on the globe. By selling on DLMS you are opening your cattle up to a
much larger community of buyers than that of your local market. Dial up and
broadband internet access have equal access to the sales we conduct.
With the ability to sell cattle right from your own farm, ranch or feedlot, the
stress that your cattle experience is minimized and knowing the price you will
receive for your cattle before they leave the farm, will minimize your stress
as well! Most of the animals sold on DLMS are sold F.O.B. (freight on board)
the farm. What this means is that the buyer is responsible for paying the
trucking. Which mean a reduced cost to you the seller. Cattle sold F.O.B. are
also not subject to extra sorting and standing, that they might otherwise
experience.
Consignors are encouraged to have a price goal for the cattle they are selling.
This gives you more control of the marketing of your cattle. If the final price
isn't high enough, the cattle can be passed. We sell 90% of the cattle
we list on most of our sales.
When are DLMS sales?
DLMS regular feeder sales are every Thursday at 10:00 am Mountain Time. Special
sales and bull sales will occur at other times and dates as available. As sales
are added, they are available on the home page.
Please watch for upcoming sales on the DLMS home page.
